While Joel McCrea was just on this set, Fay Wray and Robert Armstrong were shuttling back-and-forth between sets at RKO, making another movie for Schoedsack and Cooper. Wray would put on a blonde wig and monkey around with "King Kong" for awhile, then head back over and shoot this movie. Some sets were used in both films. Both were big hits for RKO in 1932-33, though this one ended up being more forgotten over time.

Surprisingly good acting considering the horrible dialogue and plot. I enjoyed it despite how ridiculous it was. Like watching old Japanese Godzilla flicks. LOL!

This is my 2nd Tom Keen Movie. The 1st, "The Glory Trail", was Fabulous!

I started watching this movie, and I was really liking it, until it reached to the point that they've concieved St.Mary Magdalene as the lover of Judas - that seemed preposterous and completely unacceptable to me - that could never be - St.Mary Magdalene was a woman of love, and a thief like Judas is not the type of the love St.Magdalene would have coupled with - Judas would have been more the kind of a fornicator, but not the loving type she longed for, and which She ultimately found and satisfied only in Jesus!!....So, I had to quit it, with as much as I was liking it - in these very old movies, whatever the topic, and the older the better, you get a better sense of true humility, like people beastialised that they have become, are not anymore today; you get a better view of devotion as it should be done, but especially of love and passion which the icy cold people of today are totally incapable of....The tragedy of our days is not that we don't do those things with fervour, because it could hapoen, but that they are totally condemned in that form of behaviour, because we're too proud to lower ourselves in our false notion of "dignity".....It's a tragedy, a nightmare, and our condemnation, that may God have Mercy and release us from this prison that the world has become!!! *Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us!!!* ✝️ ✝️
